The Voice of Creation
2/16/04
The white moon drifts on in the dark blue day
The sun rises across the great expanse
Bursts of pink and red shoot across the ocean’s water
Day begins and the sea gulls call forth the people
Why this new day
Why does the sun rise again and again
In the morning it rises in majesty
In the evening it falls in disgrace
Yet once more it returns to the wide ocean above
And people a cycle renew
The great mountains stand fast and tall and majestic
All little creatures work day and night in delight
Water flows in nearby streams
Ponds are filled by trickling waterfalls
In harmony the world works if undisturbed
All creation calls
The math of music sings to the heart
Science speaks in mysteries of the earth
The vastness of knowledge echoes with reverb
Real life is deeper
Real life is deeper
What is there for humans to fulfill
All knowledge cannot be obtained
People want more
Never content
Not all can be done
Even the universe has no end
But laziness leads to anxiety
But work leads to pain
But age sets and all grow stiff and crumble
Creation calls
The emptiness of humanity wails bitterly
We say don’t all problems have a solution
Lack of solution rings loud and like a broken bell
Grab hold of the call in your heart
Do not ignore that deepening cry
Existence is not all there is
We can live for something more
Look up above
Beyond the sun and the sky and the universe
The mystery of Christ is unique in itself
The paradox calls to the dieing world
It answers the call of the heart
With His sacrifice the solution to all
He calls with revelation
He wants to reveal Himself to you
He calls your name
He whispers it in a seeking voice
Come with arms in surrender
Come with heart in submission
All creation calls
Come all the world to restore the image once clear in you
God’s beauty and integrity and wholeness in you
Gather all you peoples
That all be restored body and soul
That Eden may be home again
That Earth be healed and all may be good
Come that life will live in you
That we may walk in one accord
Creation says come
Come and answer the call
