Something About You
This is an old one but its one of my better ones that is old.
.
.
Something About You
7/30/00
There is something about you
That sets me free
Something about you
That helps me see
Some mystery
Some humbling love
Some great might within your holy fire
You burn me up
And purge the sin within my soul
You liberate me from the self within me
I can see your face
And hear your voice
And I want nothing but you
You make me want to give all I have
To live like the homeless
To starve myself so others can eat
You make poverty so easy to want
Because you are there
And I knowI need you more and more

The Time I've Spent With You
So it's true that Sarah is the special one in my life now, and I wrote this for her
...............................................
The Time I've Spent With You
10/27/05
.................................
A dosen roses wouldn't do
To replace the time i've spent with you
It's not the grace with which you walk
It's the sound of your voice when we talk
That akward silence when I notice your presence
That unique persona that is your essence
There's nothing I could do
To replace the time I've spent with you

No Cutting Knife
No Cutting Knife
10/20/2005
No matter the holocaust
Our friendship won't be lost
No matter what time in life
There is no cutting knife
With all that time to cherish you
I will stay true
As love and friendship do
This one I wrote to my knew girl friend!!!

You Make Me New
You Make Me New
Thursday, April 21, 2005
My life is less then perfect now
I know I’m not always true
I want too, but only outside bow
Though I know I still love you
I Think I’ve forgotten now
What you’ve taught me since the beginning
I’m an old tipped cow, a sow
Lost what I’ve always loved about you
If I can remember your face now
I think I might begin to see your whole glory
If my heart will bow now
Perhaps you will set me free
I’m sick of being lonely
I’m sick of being strong
My pretense long, has frozen me
I want you to know, I’ve been so wrong
I’ve wandered in the wilderness
Followed my own course, valued yours less
When all I had to do was fallow
To wait for you in marrow
Cold and silent I have been
Your touch so warm, new life I might begin
Given another chance I see now
Older I start to bow
Warming up like summer June
I draw to you like sea and moon
You sit me up, I take your hand
You kiss my face and give me band
My blood is red
My robe is white
Back to life, I taste and feel
My skin, it seems so real
In bed I am, I feel the comfort
I feel the grass beneath my feet
I see the colors beyond man’s reach
My thoughts, like the sand of the beach
Still touch my eyes and fill them deep
As tears begin to seep
I see your face, and then you shine
As you carry me through time
I was really under water for a while you know, but now it seems that God is really getting a foothold again you know?

Sonnet
A Sonnet I wront in HS. About the wonderful times I would have laying in bed. I would have a poem running through my head, and if I didn't turn the light on and write it down, then I would't be able to sleep for the rest of the night. It also contradictingly cracks a joke to me not being able to ryme.
Speaking From The Heart
5/14/02
Woe to me who cannot rhyme
What kind of poet am I
For me to rhyme is to stand on the edge of a dime
That I cannot even try
Is a poet with out rhythm
Like a bird without wings
A king with out a kingdom
A bride and groom without rings
Perhaps not
For he speaks the verse from within his heart
So this is not what I thought
My heart and word should not be apart
If I do not speak my heart to peace
Then my convicted heart will never cease

Paradox Man
10/6/2005
Who is this Jesus, this paradox man
His life has disturbed the whole of mankind
Once small and frail, now high and almighty
Was a mover of mountains, a servant in the midst of kings
His name is Christ
God and savior both in one
Creator and sustainer two in one
His name is Jesus, giver of life
A lover; healer; majestic and kind
Giving; forgiving; powerful with grace
A human and God; both two in one
Both servant and King, and that by his will
A lover and judge; of those whom he loves
Creator, creation; a miracle child
In perfect order, his heart was content
Charged into chaos; his heart did relent
Defiance of chaos, his heart did prevent
Now dead in the chaos, his heart was so bent
A beauty gained; a beauty lost
No beauty like this has ever been tossed
The world in chaos; no hope for a future
And what? A rose in the thorns; risen in spring
A dead seed; a mighty tree
A dead man who shouts with glee
